This forgotten history is the focus of Dr. Jessica Gordon Nembhard's new book, "Collective Courage: A History of African American Cooperative Economic Thought and Practice.” Nembhard is Associate Professor of Community Justice & Social Economic Development in the Department of African American Studies at John Jay College of the City University of New York, and will speak on her new book. Member-Owners,

Mobile’ize your vision of the Co-op’s future. Join us for a free mobile making workshop with local artist, Lindsay Fogg-Willits. Workshop will be held at the Arts & Industry Building, 221 Pine Street in Florence. Lindsay will help participants visualize and create hanging mobiles that illustrate the theme of our upcoming Annual Meeting, ROOTS AND SHOOTS. Help us celebrate the roots that have grounded us and the healthy growth that has come from our shared efforts. Finished mobiles will be displayed at our Annual Meeting and Celebration on December 4th at the Look Park Garden House.

All materials will be provided. No experience necessary. For adults and kids, 6-years and older, accompanied by a parent.
