Thank you to all of our owners who attended the 2016 Annual Meeting & Celebration Dinner at Hadley Farms Meeting House! It was our most attended annual celebration dinner and meeting to date! We raised $1350 dollars for the Nolumbeka Project, our non profit guest of honor.

The Nolumbeka Project, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of Native Americans/American Indians of New England through educational programs, art, history, music, heritage seed preservation and cultural events. Funded in part by Credit Data Services, Inc., at Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, they are actively building, maintaining and expanding an historical archive research library for use by the Tribes and Educators of the Northeast and beyond.

The Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers who have been active for more than 40 years in a number of other preservation, historical research, environmental and social justice organizations.  For more information please visit: http://nolumbekaproject.blogspot.com

Welcome New Board Members!

The results are in from the River Valley Co-op elections for the three seats on the Board. Jade Barker, Lynn DiTullio and Andrea Stanley were re-elected to the Board. This year, there was significant interest in serving as a director: eight candidates (including the three incumbents) vied for the seats. We offer congratulations to Jade, Lynn and Andrea. And a heartfelt thank you to Eric Bauer, David Berson, Marilyn Castriotta, Jacquie Fraser and Katie Gartner.

As part of the application process, it is suggested that candidates attend one or more board meetings to better understand the work of the directors. Many of the candidates did, and their enthusiasm for, and engagement with the co-op was clearly evident. We are fortunate to have co-op owners who have such a strong interest in serving the co-op.

Beyond serving as a director, there are other ways that owners can support the work of the co-op. Co-op owners offer workshops, participate in co-op activities that strengthen the co-op, including co-op cafés, and help with events like the Strawberry Social and the Annual Meeting. All co-op owners are welcome at board meetings, which happen the fourth Wednesday of the month. The next board meeting is Wednesday, December 28 from 6:30-9:00 p.m.
